about

subject object

A workspace with small black beads or figurines on a wooden tray, surrounded by containers, tools, and jars, likely for jewelry making or crafts.
Black background with white, abstract, flowing shape resembling a curving river or ink blot.

Subject Object is an object studio founded by artist and goldsmith Bramble Lee Pryde.

The studio creates jewellery, adornment, collectible objects, editions, and one-of-a-kind works that explore our relationships with value, memory, ritual, and meaning. Some pieces are worn. Some are displayed. Some are carried through important moments, inherited, gifted, borrowed, or kept close for reasons that are difficult to explain.

While the studio is known for fine jewellery, Subject Object has never been solely about adornment. From ceremonial objects and sculptural vessels to experimental collections and future heirlooms, the work is united by a fascination with the roles objects play in our lives and the stories we attach to them.

After years focused primarily on production jewellery, Subject Object has returned to its broader roots as a studio for both adornment and objects. Alongside fine jewellery, the studio once again produces one-of-a-kind works, limited editions, material experiments, and pieces that exist somewhere between utility, ritual, humour, and cultural observation.

Everything is made with the belief that objects matter, not because they are expensive, but because they become part of how we remember, celebrate, grieve, gather, transform, and make sense of the world around us.

Objects We Keep Close

Fine jewellery, collectible objects, and thoughtful companions for uncertain times.

Our OFFERINGS

permanent collection

The Permanent Collection brings together Subject Object's ongoing jewellery designs. These are pieces intended to remain available over time, forming the foundation of the studio's offering. Designed to be worn daily and lived with for years, they balance craftsmanship, symbolism, and enduring form.

All work is made to order, hand fabricated takes time and no two are every identical, becasue that’s the point.

bespoke

Bespoke commissions are collaborative projects created for significant moments, personal stories, and future heirlooms. Working closely with clients, the studio develops one-of-a-kind jewellery and objects that respond to individual histories, relationships, materials, and intentions.

on loAN

On Loan is Subject Object's collection of ceremonial and temporary objects. Created for occasions where ownership is not the point, these works can be borrowed for weddings, rituals, performances, gatherings, and other meaningful events. The collection explores alternative relationships to value, access, and belonging.

OBJECTS

Beyond jewellery, Subject Object produces collectible objects, vessels, editions, games, relics, and material experiments. Some are functional. Some are ceremonial. Some exist primarily as prompts for reflection, conversation, humour, or wonder. Together, they reflect the studio's broader interest in how humans form relationships with the things they keep close.
